Glazed necklace
A string of glazed ring beads and lentoid bead, wedjat eye, pig and cat amulets
A string of faience (glazed ware) beads which are ring and lentoid (oval) in shape. In addition to the beads there are three amulets- a wedjat eye, which represented the eye of Horus and would protect the wearer from evil; a cat perhaps a reference to the goddess Bastet; and either a boar/pig or a hippomotamus. The hippopotamus often appears in tombs/grave goods in the form of a figure. Found in a grave with E.114.1921 and E.117.1921.
