The drawing itself is probably not by van de Velde but more likely Peeters (verso, in a graphite inscription in a different hand reading "Bon / P"), unless it was drawn by the Younger van de Velde in Peeters' manner when he was apprenticed to him. See text in catalogue. Formerly attributed to Willem II van de Velde [1633-1707].
