Mackley sent a proof of this print to Deborah Jaffé (daughter of Michael and Patricia Jaffé) with his letter dated Christmas 1975. The design was apparently also used as the logo for the Fitzwilliam Museum's Music Conservation Appeal, although the reference does not mention the date of the appeal. See, _George Mackley, Artist and Wood Engraver, 1900-1983, Letters to a Child_ (Friends' Press, Fitzwilliam Museum, December 1989), flyleaf.
