Limestone scarab with an uninscribed base. A core has been drilled through the centre and then re-filled with the original stone. The blue veins are untypical of Egyptian limestone and this in addition to the carving and size of this object suggest that it may be an 18th or 19th century copy or forgery. The sticker on the base is a reference to a previous collection.
