Description

Clay cup or beaker, with decoration in black and white.

Clay cup or beaker with linear painted decoration in white and black. Made from a type of clay called Nile silt B, this vessel was made on a wheel and is finished in two different ways. At the top the surface has been smoothed over when wet; towards the base the clay has been left rough. The base has also been roughly cut from the wheel, suggesting mass production. Found in grave 192.2 in the Qasr Ibrim cemetery. The pot is complete.
