  • Text: Henri Rochefort fled to Brussels with General Boulagner in 1889 and returned to France in 1895. A closly similar drawing, but differing in detail and executed in pen and ink only, appeared on the first page of Figaro for 31 Jan. 1895 and is reproduced in Doux Pays (Libraire Plon, 1897). Presumably this drawing was an elaboration made for Rochefort.
