Marble Statue of Serapis.
Sarapis, head with modius. Serapis was a Roman version of the Greco-Egyptian god Sarapis. He was a Hellenised version of Osiris Apis, who was worshipped through the cult of the dead Apis bull at Memphis. From the second century AD the Roman emperors were closely associated with this Egyptian deity.
