Note

In 1938, Gwen travelled to Eastern Europe and Persia with Cecil and Caroline Edwards. (See also 'Isfahan: Interior of a Mosque', PD.16-1994, 1928). G.R. produced two articles, 'A Delayed Letter from Gwen Raverat about her visit to Persia' and 'Visit to a Persian Household' in 'The Farmers Weekly', Vol. VIII, No. 25, 24 June 1938 and Vol. VIII, No. 26, 1 July 1928 respectively. She kept a detailed diary of her journey between 20 March and 16 May when they reached Italy. The diary also contains detailed studies in graphite, pen and black ink, and wash for Ispahan.
