White-ground, black-figure lekythos, showing the harnessing of a chariot; four bearded male figures stand around a 2-horse chariot; each wears a leafy wreath around his head; two, the charioteer, mounting the chariot box, and another standing behind the horses, may be wearing the white tunic of a charioteer; the wreaths suggest preparations for a competition or festival procession.
