Description

Fritware painted in six colours under a clear glaze

Fritware wheel made and finely potted painted in blue, yellow, red, green, purple and black under a clear, slightly crazed glaze.
Shape: hemispherical bowl on a foot ring
Interior: around the rim a frieze alternating between panels of black cross-hatch design and black semi-circles with red dots and green leaves. In the roundel a flower is painted in red and green.
Exterior: on the body lobbed medallions containing stylised floral or vegetal designs are reserved against a blue ground covered with a black dotted fish scale pattern. Glaze covers the exterior surface except for a small patch on the foot ring.
