Description

Fritware, carved, incised and pierced under a white glaze

Fritware, wheel thrown, decorated with open-work, carving and incising under a white glaze
Shape: conical bowl with carination close to the base and a dentellated rim, sits on a foot ring base
Interior: two wide bands of vertical lines are carved and pierced into the body, separated by a central carved horizontal band and incised lines above and below.
Exterior: piercing from the interior is visible on the exterior. Glaze runs over the foot ring, where it terminates unevenly.
