Description

Fritware coated in a turquoise glaze painted with lustre and red

Fritware, wheel thrown and mould made, coated in a turquoise glaze painted with lustre and red.
Shape: globular body, descending via a collar onto a narrow foot ring. Narrow cylindrical, collared neck ascending onto a cup shaped mouth decorated with pointed bosses.
Exterior: the rim is decorated with a lustre band (almost worn away) outlined with a red. On the body, the remains of a pattern of lustre split palmette scrolls are outlined with red. Glaze runs over the surface and terminates unevenly on the foot ring.
Interior: visible surface covered with glaze
