Description

Fritware, carved under a turquoise glaze

Fritware bowl, wheel thrown and carved under a cracked turquoise glaze with slight imperfections causing pin prick holes.
Shape: conical bowl with slight carination in the upper body, sits on a foot ring. Rim displays slight indents.
Interior: on the body two sets of vertical lines radiate towards the rim, the upper set are enclosed by concentric lines and are longer, more deeply carved and more closely spaced than the lower set.
Exterior: Undecorated except for glaze which terminates unevenly on the lower body, where droplets are formed.
