Fritware, wheel-thrown, carved under a turquoise glaze
Shape: cylindrical jar, flaring slightly towards a carination on the shoulder and a collared neck, terminating in a bead rim. Sits on a low, wide foot ring.
Exterior: on the upper body, a kufic style inscription is carved in a horizontal band. Glaze terminates unevenly on the lower body or foot ring.
Interior: glaze covers the surface unevenly.
History note: Found at Gurgan
