Fritware painted in blue and black under a transparent white glaze
Fritware, wheel thrown, painted in blue and black under a transparent white glaze.
Shape: carinated bowl with a plain rim and a slightly flaring foot ring base.
Interior: a radiating design comprises alternating black triangular panels, with incised epigraphic band and blue edging, and black feather like fronds reserved in blue.
Exterior: rim is painted in blue, on the neck a black band is inscribed with an epigraphy. On the body black water weeds are painted. Glaze runs over the surface covering the foot ring unevenly. The underside of the foot ring is covered with a thin glaze coating under which a triangular symbol is drawn in black.
History note: Found at Gurgan
