Description

Earthenware coated in a cream slip painted in three colours under a clear glaze

Red earthenware, wheel thrown, on the interior coated in a cream slip, painted in brown, orange, green and cream under a clear, crazed glaze.
Shape: conical bowl on a disc base
Interior: painted on a cream slip, brown triangles hand from the rim. Radiating from a rosette on the base, two groups of stylised flowers are painted, all in brown or green often with cream dots. These flowers are separated by a palmette with incised scrolls or Arabic inscription both in orange, brown and cream dots.
Exterior: cream slip and a thin line of glaze are present on or just below the rim. Remainder is undecorated.
