Railway Mug
White earthenware transfer-printed in mauve under lead-glaze. Cylindrical with a projecting moulding round the lower edge, and a rounded ear-shaped handle. The exterior is printed with a view at Edge Hill and the inscription 'ENTRANCE TO THE LIVERPOOL & MANCHESTER/RAILWAY'. On the other side there is a an engine drawing a passenger carriage and a truck piled high with barrels. Below there is greensward and flowering plants, and a couple walking towards the right.
