Bowl. Hard-paste porcelain painted in bright enamel colours of pink, yellow, green, turquoise, aubergine, brown, iron-red, white, black. The shallow, well rounded sides rise from a countersunk base with corresponding domed 'loaf-centre' on the interior. The exterior is painted with two maidens poling tree-rafts, one accompanied by a deer with a basket of peaches to her side, the other with a Buddhist Lion and another maiden carrying a bowl of peaches, a bundle of scrolls hannging from a forked branch to one side. The rafts are divided by two iron-red bats, all reserved against an incised ground of swirling, foaming white waves. The interior and base are glazed in bright turquoise with the studio mark reserved in white on the base.
