Tin-glazed earthenware (faïence) painted in blue with lambrequins, and with formal borders forming three panels each containing a basket of flowers, and inscribed below the handle 'Jean delaland./1729'.

This bulbous form, described as a 'broc' and used for cider and other drinks is characteristic of Rouen faience, although also made elsewhere. In 1870 André Potier described this example as of 'Bonne exécution., belle & capitale pièce', but did not state its location. See Documentation.
