Tin-glazed earthenware mug, the underside of which is slightly concave with a low, narrow, recessed foot. The handle is twisted, with a protruding terminal that is square ended. The body is decorated with vertical rows of bosses, which were pushed outwards. The glaze is white, and the underside is almost wiped clean of the glaze.

Tin-glazed earthenware potteries were operating at Montague Close, and Pickleherring in Southwark, and at Rotherhithe, at the time that this mug is likely to have been made, and of these Rotherhithe or Pickleherring seem the most likely for its manufacture.
