Description

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue; bases of containers are unglazed. In the form of three-vase-shaped containers joined internally with interconnecting holes and flat on the underside; each with two handles interlaced with the adjoining container. Inscribed on one side T/R.P/1649 with a loopy flourish below. The handles are splashed with blue.

History note: Possibly excavated in Cambridge Market Place; Mr Freeman, Cambridge dealer from whom purchased in 1899 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
