Pottery: unidentified London pottery
Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue with exotic plants and butterflys
Buff earthenware, thrown, with recessed base, applied handles and tubular spout, tin-glazed and painted in blue. The pot is cylindrical with two loop handles each with an inward scroll at the top and an outward scroll at the lower end. A narrow tubular spout is applied to the front, and curves outwards slightly at the top (restored). Both sides are painted with two arrangements of exotic flowering plants tilting towards the centre . On the back there are two butterflies between them, and on the front the date 1674 above the spout.
