Fritware coated in a white glaze painted in four colours
Fritware, wheel thrown, coated in white glaze painted with red, grey and turquoise with black outlines.
Shape: carinated hemispherical bowl with a slight collar at the neck, sits on a low foot ring.
Interior: the rim is painted with a dentillated grey pattern. On the neck, grey kufic script is floriated with scrolling turquoise half palmettes on a red ground. On the body, enclosed with a roundel, a radiating panel design comprises a central star whose arms contain a turquoise naskh inscription. Between the arms triangular panels contain either arabesques or an irregular grid and lozenge pattern, both painted in grey, red, turquoise and black.
Exterior: the rim is painted with a turquoise band. On the neck, enclosed between red concentric lines, a naskh inscription is painted in turquoise and red. Glaze covers the surface to the foot ring where it terminates unevenly.
