Pottery: Unidentified Lambeth Pottery (Probably)
Buff eathenware, thrown, tin-glazed, and painted in blue. Circular, with bulbous sides, contracting towards the everted rim, standing on a high foot. The outside is painted with a spray of stylized foliage.
History note: Found in London; James Smith Collection. Whitechapel; sold 1901 and possibly one of the items mentioned in Dr J.W.L. Glaisher's MS Catalogue entry no. 3925 (C.1320-1928), as having been bought at the Smith Sale in 1901 in a box with several others
