Description

Shallow bowl. Pinkish-buff earthenware, slip-coated (or tin-glazed?) cream overall except for a few small areas on the back, and covered with a clear, whitish lead glaze. Painted in blue, green, yellow, orange, and greenish-brown.
Circular with shallow, curving sides and convex centre.
In the middle, a bust portrait of a young woman wearing a high-necked dress faces in profile to left. The name `IVLIA' and `B' (Bella) are inscribed in blue on an arched ribbon above. On the sides, between pairs of narrow blue bands, there are debased military trophies. The edge is yellow.
