Pottery: unidentified London pottery
Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue with stylized flowers
Buff earthenware, tin-glazed and painted in blue. Circular with a narrow sloping rim, shallow curved sides and flat centre. Decorated in the middle with three flowers (possibly iris) and two long jagged leaves, and on the rim with four four-petalled flowerheads alternating with four groups of three leaf tips. A pair with C.1362A-1928
History note: An unidentified village near Cambridge; Mr Morley, a Cambridge dealer, from whom purchased in 1893 or 1894 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
