Description

Buff earthenware, tin-glazed and marbled in blue and manganese-purple. The salt has a high conical foot, a shallow well surrounded by a wide wavy-edged rim with dimples pushed up from below. Three horn-like supports project upwards from the rim.

History note: Unidentified vendor; Sotheby’s, 22 February 1906, lot 208 bought by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge.
