Octagonal, earthenware plate, transfer-printed underglaze in blue with 'Full Nankin' pattern.
Plate. Earthenware, moulded, and transfer-printed in blue under glaze which is tinted blue, particularly on the reverse (pearlware). The plate is octagonal, with a narrow sloping rim, deep, slightly curved sides and flat centre. The centre is decorated with a circular print which is a variant of the Caughley porcelain 'Full Nankin' pattern. On the sides there is a border of hexagonal motifs between two rows of half-hexagons. The rim has a border incorporating plants in pots, interlocked diamonds and two different rectangular fence or furniture motifs.
