Pottery: Pickleherring Pottery (Probably)
Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue, and a little yellow and red with a tower and the initials and date, C\TH\1660
Tin-glazed earthenware, painted in blue, and a little yellow and red. Cylindrical with slightly recessed base and narrow footrim, and with a loop handle which is concave on the outside and has a rounded terminal at the lower end. The domed cover has a narrow rim, and a capstan-shaped knob. The front is painted in blue with a castellated gate tower with a portcullis, and a conical roof, flying a flag bearing the red cross of St George, with a yellow crown at the top of the pole above it. Below are the initials and date: C\T H\1660.
