Fritware, coated in a blue glaze painted red and buff and gilded
Reddish fritware, wheel thrown, coated in a blue glaze painted in red and buff and leaf gilded
Shape: square rim on a shallow bowl with convex sides sitting on a low foot ring.
Interior: a cross, outlined in red, radiates from a central point, the arms contain friezes of gold lozenges also outlined in red and surrounded by dotted buff āVā shapes. Between the arms, buff triangles contain a central diagonal lines and smaller red triangles. A pair of buff concentric lines below the rim delineates this decoration.
Exterior: on the body, radiating vertical lines are only partially visible due to rep-painting during restoration. Glaze runs unevenly over the lower body and in places onto the foot ring.
