Description

Reddish buff earthenware tin-glazed and painted and sponged in blue. Circular with rounded sides, everted rim, and a long handle with a slight downward turn at the end. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with stylized floral sprays and the stem is sponged in blue.

History note: Bought at a shop in Bristol by Mr Goodman, Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, at whose shop it was bought for £1 on 4 January 1917 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
