Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue
Earthenware, press-moulded in parts, tin-glazed and painted in blue. The stand comprises four tiers of shells, ( six, five, four, and three - one missing from the lowest tier). Each shell is bracketed on the tail of a dolphin attached to the central core, and the summit is topped by three dolphins with their tails uppermost. The shells in alternate layers are painted respectively with bunches of grapes and a border, or with stripes. The central core, dolphin brackets and the three dolphins at the top are blue overall with incised trefoils here and there.
