Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue
Buff earthenware, thrown, tin-glazed and painted in blue, and a little brown. Circular with deep curved sides, standing on a high footring. The interior is decorated with a central floral spray surrounded by a circle of leaves on a continuous stem and further out, a single line. Round the rim there is a border of alternating blue rectangles and crossed white rectangles. The edge of the rim is brown. On one side of the exterior there is a long spray of stylized foliage and flowers terminating in a long tendril with a bud terminal, and on the other side, three detached leaves.
