Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue with an Oriental landscape
Buff earthenware, tin-glazed bluish-white, and painted in blue and yellow. Circular with narrow sloping rim, shallow well and recessed base. The front is painted with an Oriental landscape with promontories on either side, and a small island in the foreground. Two Chinese figures are standing on the promontory on the left, and there is a temple and trees on the other. Above on the left there are two banks of clouds, and in the middle two groups of flying birds. A yellow band encircles the rim. The back is inscribed and dated, 'Mary Harvey/1750'
