Description

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue, green, and yellow, and sponged in manganese with a Pierrot standing between two trees, and the initials D and H, surrounded by blue and yellow concentric circles and blue dashes

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue, green, and yellow, and sponged in manganese; the glaze on the back greyish and speckled in blue. Circular with deep curved sides, standing on a footring. Decorated on the front with a Pierrot standing between two trees. He holds a jester's bauble or a small butterfly net in his left hand, and has the initials D and H on either side of his head. Round the edge there are blue and yellow bands and blue dashes.
