Renaissance maiolica jug, painted in polychrome with, on the front, a 'ladder' frame enclosing a coat-of-arms.
Pale buff earthenware, slip-coated and lead-glazed on the interior and exterior; base unglazed. Painted underglaze in blue, green, yellow, and orange. Ovoid with projecting base, short flaring neck pinched at the front to form a spout, and strap handle with a kink near the top and a thumbprint at the bottom. On the front a blue `ladder' frame encloses a quartered coat-of-arms with blue stripes on each side.
