Pottery: Unidentified Lambeth Pottery (Possibly)
Tin-glazed earthenware painted in dark blue
Pale buff earthenware, thrown, tin-glazed slightly greenish-blue, and painted in dark blue. Circular with an everted rim, and deep curved sides, standing on a high, outward-sloping footring. The inside is decorated with a central large floral spray, surrounded by three medium-sized sprays, several smaller ones, and flying insects. The top of the rim has a border of floral and diaper ornament. The exterior is decorated with comparable floral sprays of different sizes.
History note: Bought at Oxford in 1894 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
