Untitled Pot
Potter: Washington, R. J.
Grey-buff stoneware, with obvious horizontal throwing marks, decorated with grey and brown glazes, and painted in-glaze in brown. Ovoid, standing on a cylindrical foot, with a cylindrical neck sloping outwards towards the rim. The grey-brown glaze is poured over the pot and runs in dribbles so that some areas of body are visible. A design of abstract anthropomorphic motifs is painted in brown. Some areas of glaze have a lustrous quality.
