Description

Earthenware coated in a white slip splashed in green under a light green glaze

Pinkish brown earthenware, wheel thrown, coated in a white slip, splashed in green under a light green glaze.
Shape: hemispherical bowl with a plain rim, sits on a disc base
Interior: splashed lines radiate between solid areas of green on the rim and base. Glaze and splashed pigment cover the surface unevenly with underlying slip visible in discrete areas. Three scar marks on the base indicate the use of a tripod stacking device in the kiln.
Exterior: Splashed decoration continues on the rim and upper body. Light green glaze covers the surface to a point above the base.
