Description

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue

Buff earthenware, thrown with pierced sides, tin-glazed and painted in blue. The circular basket has deep curved sides and stands on a footring. The upper part of the sides have been pierced to create the semblance of interlacing osiers or ribbons. The centre is painted with a large lotus flower and bamboo, and the interlace on the sides with cracked ice pattern.
