According to Reggi, see Documentation, this Assumption was inspired by a wood sculpture of 1514 by Gaspare Cibelli in the Duomo at Carpi. Another possible source was a bronze plaquette attributed to a Master Alivse, which mayh have inspired maiolica panels made in the eighteenth century at Imola.
