Description

Brown earthenware, coated on the inside and underside of the cover with cream slip, and on the exterior with brown slip, decorated with cream and yellow slip, and painting in green and yellow under lead-glaze. The bowl has deep curved sides with two horizontal rectangular handles on opposing sides, and stands on a circular spreading foot. The domed cover has a narrow border, and on top has six applied straps forming arches which support the hemispherical knob which is moulded with leaves and a raspberry prunt. The sides of the bowl are decorated with yellow and cream beaded swags suspended from a horizontal beaded band below the rim. The edges of the handles are yellow. The cover has a band of beading around the inner edge of its border, and the applied straps and the leaves on the knob are painted alternately in green and yellow.
