Earthenware, wheel thrown, painted in blue, brown and yellow in or under a white glaze
Earthenware, wheel thrown, and painted in blue, brown and yellow in or under white glaze. Circular with deep curved sides, standing on a footring. The centre is painted with a Turkish pavilion and cypress trees conventionally treated. The narrow rim has a Chinese trellis border interrupted by blank panels.
History note: Purchased in Athens in 1904, probably in March, by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
