Workshop: Fontana, Orazio (Probably)
Renaissance maiolica pharmacy jar, painted in polychrome with a crowned woman, sitting on a chair, holding a sceptre, with a landscape.
Pharmacy jar. Earthenware, tin-glazed overall. Painted in blue, green, yellow, orange, brown, manganese-purple, black, and white.
Albarello with swellings above and below the waist, short neck with everted rim, and solid foot.
On the front, two putti hold up a label inscribed in blue `LOC D PVL VLPIS'; above, a crowned woman, holding a sceptre, sits in a chair flanked by trees. The rest of the jar is decorated with a landscape with rocks, buildings and distant mountains. Round the rim there is a yellow band with an orange band over it.
