Description

Frtiware painted in three colourless under a colourless glaze

Fritware, wheel thrown, painted in blue, black and dark red under a crazed, colourless glaze
Shape: cylindrical body flaring outwards toward the rim, sits on a carved disk base
Exterior: under the rim a band of calligraphy is outlined in black and reserved in blue. On the body seated human figures in a Persian style are separated by fern fronds. Glaze covers the surface to the edge of the base.
Interior: a "kufesque" band is outlined in black and reserved in blue under the rim.
