Description

Maiolica two-handled sauceboat, painted in blue with, on the inside, a pavilion and tower, and, on the exterior, loose scrolls.

Earthenware, tin-glazed overall. Painted in blue, partly outlined in manganese.
Oval, with lightly fluted exterior, two lateral scroll handles, and a low foot with scalloped edge.
Inside are a pavilion and a tower surrounded by trees and plants, enclosed by two narrow oval bands between two wide. The exterior is decorated with loose scrolls alternating with tufts depending from a line round the rim. The handles are outlined in blue and have strokes on their outer edge.
