Description

Leaf-shaped Water Dropper. Hard-paste porcelain, enamelled on the biscuit in green and aubergine, and modelled in the form of a large lotus leaf with a frog in the interior.

Leaf-shaped Water Dropper. Hard-paste porcelain decorated on the biscuit with green and aubergine enamels. It is modelled in the form of a large lotus leaf with undulating sides curved round and up beneath the wavy-edged rim, and resting on three small conch-shaped feet. The leaf is enamelled overall in bright green with incised veining on both the interior and underside. A short stippled hollow stalk rises up one side from the base to act as a pourer, the aperture on the interior is concealed by a small model of a frog in greyish aubergine. The wooden stand is also in the form of a lotus leaf.
