Description

Maiolica teapot and cover painted in green, yellow, and manganese with, on one side, a woman with trees and birds, and, on the other side, two buildings in a landscape.

Earthenware, tin-glazed off-white overall. Painted in green, which has tinted the glaze slightly, yellow, and manganese.
Ovoid, standing on a low footring, with double-twist handle, dividing at its base into spirals projecting on each side, curved spout, and domed cover with a narrow rim and a knob.
On one side a woman stands between trees with birds flying overhead; on the other, there are two buildings in a landscape with a man standing in the foreground on the left. On the spout there is a floral spray, and on the handle are horizontal lines. The cover is decorated with trees and fences and the knob has manganese lines radiating from a spot on the top. The base is marked in manganese with an orb with a 'G' below.
