Renaissance maiolica plate, painted in blue and white with a central five-petalled flower surrounded by trefoil leaves on stems.
Cream earthenware, tin-glazed pale greyish-blue overall, except the edge of the base. Painted in blue and white.
Shape approximately 52. Circular with a wide, almost flat rim, shallow well, slightly convex in the centre, and concave base.
A central five-petalled flower is surrounded by two concentric circles of parti-coloured blue and pale blue trefoil leaves on stems. Round the edge is a narrow border of scrolls between pairs of narrow blue bands. On the back, midway across the rim, there is a band of scrolling foliage painted alla porcellana in blue.
