Footed chestnut coloured stoneware tea bowl of conical form. Thrown and turned, with a thin groove around the inside of the rim. Tenmoku glaze with small random light brown patches of different sizes, also many small circular areas of creamy glaze. Small circular hollow in centre of well. The creation of this hollow resulted in a crack in the base. This was sealed with Tenmoku glaze.

This bowl has very unusual glaze. No illustrations have been found of the cream and brown spots together on one pot. See Documentation for illustrations of a Tian ware shard with white spots and conical Tenmoku bowls with mottled brown spots.
